Thank You: Two Words, Eight Letters
On Monday November 10th, Brookestone of Papillion honored the lives of our resident veteran’s during a Pre- Veteran’s Day Program. As folks gathered into the chapel the song or hymn from each service branch was played. Our residents beamed with pride some even tapping their toes along to the music. Veterans from the American Legion Post 32 located in Papillion began the ceremony by presenting the Colors. Pastor Bud Bunn followed with showing several videos that captured the true meaning of patriotism, gratitude, and sacrifice. Richard “Rick” Perry, Lt Col, Retired USAF took to the podium to remind everyone of the significance of the words “thank you.” He stated that although these words may be spoken while passing, without hesitation or thought, and often without feeling we must always remember to show our gratitude to our veterans. Not just on Veteran’s Day, but every day. It is by the sacrifice of our veterans that we hold sacred the true connotation of “thank you.” It is the greatest honor to serve those of whom served our country and sacrificed so much for our freedom today. Thank you.
